The USGBC North Texas Chapter's mission is to promote a sustainable, profitable and healthy built environment in the North Texas area through education, professional training and outreach. Our dedicated volunteers, Directors and Operations Team are the people who make this possible. Every year we host over 25 events focused on making North Texas a more sustainable environment. These events need coordination, communication, administration, content and information, and you are the people that can help us do that. Below is a breakdown of our committees. The North Texas Green Council operates under a dynamic governance model consisting of a Board of Directors, responsible for setting overall vision of the Chapter, and an Executive Director and Board of Operations, who are responsible for determining and executing the objectives to implement the mission and goals. The Board of Operations consists of various interconnected groups managed by a dedicated group of Commissioners, who, under the direction of the Executive Director, in turn manage the activities of the Chapter. These Commissioners are volunteer professionals appointed by the Executive Director, who are responsible to effectively formulate operations that meet the goals adopted by the Board. Under Commissioner oversight, many volunteer-led committees have been implemented that are designed to accomplish the essential details. Volunteer opportunities are available within each Committee Grouping.
