WEST TEXAS

THE USGBC WEST

TEXAS BRANCH

KEEPING AN EYE ON WEST TEXAS

The West Texas Branch of the USGBC was established in 2008 with an eye towards West Texas becoming a leader in sustainability. The group aims to focus the local communities on environmental responsibility and to contribute to global green building through education, research, technology, innovation and spirit.

GETTING GREENER EVERY DAY

On account of the vision and leadership of the West Texas Steering Committee, the branch began accepting its first members on July 22, 2008.  Since then, the group has hosted quarterly membership meetings, co-sponsored the annual Spring into Green event with the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, and appointed an Executive Committee in June 2009.

The organization continues to grow thanks to the West Texas Community and support from entities including United Supermarkets, the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, the City of Lubbock, Texas Tech University and AIA Lubbock, as well as various design and construction firms including Criag Wallace Construction, MWM Architects, and Parkhill, Smith & Cooper.
